My heart is for families and reconnecting couples who have struggled with affairs, trauma, or complications from sexual betrayal. My training is in grief and trauma counseling. I am Gottman trained through Level 3. My further certification is through APSATS as a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist who is skilled working with couples. My women’s groups help them feel community rather than isolation during a crisis. The 3 phases include Safety and Stabilization, Grief and Mourning, and Revitalization. Please reach out to me if I can help.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, I specialize in helping adults cope with a variety of mental health concerns primarily stemming from intimacy disorders. These concerns include: Fear of abandonment, Developmental trauma, Trust issues, Anxiety, Depression, Maladaptive attachment, Substance and behavioral addictions. My job is to help you mend your relationship with yourself so that you can find and grow healthy connections with others. Together, we will work to discover the root of the problem while also investigating other issues often tied to intimacy disorders, such as addiction in all its forms, including substances, workaholism, sex, poor spending habits, and other addictive behaviors. I am qualified and have experience in Post Induction Therapy (PIT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Enmeshment Informed (EI). I am also passionate about public health education, including healthy sexual templates and reproductive health.
I have a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. Through my education and training at SMU, I have clinical experience working with adults, adolescents, families, couples, and groups. By attending a CACREP accredited university and meeting rigorous standards, I am designated as a Board Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). I am currently working toward certification as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), in order to serve individuals experiencing sex and pornography or love addictions, as well as betrayal trauma experienced through being in a relationship with someone who has a sexual addiction or who committed infidelity. Prior to joining IRR, I worked as a group and individual counselor at two inpatient treatment facilities. My education and experience before becoming a licensed counselor includes earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from SMU, before embarking on a 15-year career in Marketing and Content Direction. The experience and skills I earned on that journey directly complement the path I have chosen as a counselor.
