Education & Experience
I'm passionate about helping individuals and couples experiencing betrayal trauma and addiction to restore or create a secure attachment. My approach is rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an attachment-based modality that allows me to track the negative interaction cycle and patterns that cause distress and result in insecure attachment and disconnection. With EFT, I gently guide the couple to explore themselves and their partner, learn to emotionally regulate, and cope with negative feelings in more healthy ways. In addition to EFT, I'm also trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and can provide researched-based techniques for clients experiencing trauma and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
I am trained as a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist Candidate (CPTT-C). My experience includes assisting betrayed partners prepare for a formal disclosure, creating boundary plans, receiving and communicating polygraph results, as well as facilitating groups for betrayed partners of sex addiction or infidelity.
In addition to my specialty in partner betrayal trauma, I am also trained by Dr. Ken Adams, CSAT in enmeshment, and I am one of his Preferred Providers. I have worked individually with both male and female enmeshed adults, and have co-facilitated enmeshed women and partners of enmeshed adults workshops for Dr. Adams, CSAT with Erin Wysong-Warren, LPC-S, CSAT, CPTT, SEP.
My warm, empathetic approach, combined with my diverse cultural background and experience as a mother, enables me to connect with individuals and couples on a deep level. I understand the challenges families face today, and I'm here to help. If you're ready to take a step toward the healing that you deserve, please don't hesitate to contact me for a free initial call.
Personal Focus
My mission is to help couples navigate the intricate and often turbulent dynamics that can arise in relationships. With specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and EMDR, I explore negative interaction patterns that cause distress and offer a collaborative and warm approach to address generational trauma and emotional patterns. Although pain and suffering are inevitable, I believe that couples have the power to mitigate their suffering over time and build a strong, healthy, and loving relationship that can withstand life's challenges.

I have a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. Through my education and training at SMU, I have clinical experience working with adults, adolescents, families, couples, and groups. By attending a CACREP accredited university and meeting rigorous standards, I am designated as a Board Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). I am currently working toward certification as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), in order to serve individuals experiencing sex and pornography or love addictions, as well as betrayal trauma experienced through being in a relationship with someone who has a sexual addiction or who committed infidelity. Prior to joining IRR, I worked as a group and individual counselor at two inpatient treatment facilities. My education and experience before becoming a licensed counselor includes earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from SMU, before embarking on a 15-year career in Marketing and Content Direction. The experience and skills I earned on that journey directly complement the path I have chosen as a counselor.
